Homogeneous ESD Vinyl Flooring for Electronics Manufacturing

Project Overview

We completed an ESD flooring installation project for an electronics manufacturing facility in Malaysia. In electronics production environments, controlling electrostatic discharge is essential for protecting sensitive components and maintaining stable production conditions.

  • Location: Malaysia
  • Application: Electronics Manufacturing Plant / ESD-Controlled Area
  • Product Supplied: Homogeneous ESD Vinyl Flooring
  • Available Formats: 2.0 m × 20 m Rolls / 600 × 600 mm Tiles
  • Total Thickness: 2.0 mm

The Challenge

The facility required a durable flooring system capable of controlling electrostatic charges while withstanding daily foot traffic, production equipment and castor-chair movement. The flooring also needed to provide low emissions, reliable dimensional stability and an easy-to-maintain surface.

Our Solution: Homogeneous ESD Vinyl Flooring

We supplied our 2.0 mm homogeneous ESD vinyl flooring, available in both static-dissipative and conductive electrical resistance grades. Its dense homogeneous construction provides consistent performance throughout the material thickness and is suitable for demanding commercial and industrial environments.

Project Highlights & Product Advantages

  • Stable ESD Control: The static-dissipative version provides electrical resistance from 1.0 × 106 to 1.0 × 109 Ω, while the conductive version provides resistance from 1.0 × 104 to 1.0 × 106 Ω.
  • Low Static Generation: Static electrical propensity is below 2 kV, while friction-generated starting voltage is below 100 V.
  • Fast Static Voltage Decay: The static voltage decay time is no more than 0.4 seconds under the stated testing method.
  • Heavy-Duty Performance: Classified for Class 34 heavy commercial and Class 43 heavy industrial applications according to EN ISO 10874.
  • Hygienic Surface: Antibacterial performance inhibits more than 99% of bacterial growth according to ISO 22196.
  • Rolling Load Resistance: The flooring shows no delamination or cracking after castor-chair testing under EN 425.
  • Slip and Fire Performance: The flooring achieves R9 slip resistance and a Bfl-s1 fire classification.
  • Low Indoor Emissions: TVOC emissions after 28 days are below 10 μg/m³, while formaldehyde was not detected under the stated test method.
